Eleanor has always felt a little bit weird with her crazy red hair, weird sense of style, and messed up family she was an outsider. Park has always felt plain with his normal clothes, comic book collection, and cliche American family. When Eleanor sits next to him on the bus everything changes.They find each other irresistible and undeniably amazing. They understand that love is fleeting but they wan’t more than anything for it to work. As they begin to get closer complications arise as Eleanor’s abusive stepfather and society’s norms try to push them apart.

Review:

I knew this book was going to be good when I heard the author’s name was Rainbow. I absolutely loved this book I heard so many good things and this book exceeded my expectations. Rainbow Rowell is an AMAZING author who can switch between POV like a ninja. Park love Eleanor for her flaws which made me love Park even more. This book showed a love that was unimaginable and heart breaking. I felt like I was there with them feeling this emotional roller coaster they were riding together. The only reason that this book didn’t 5/5 was because the ending was lame I understand that “happy endings” are cliche but I felt that Eleanor and Park deserved the cheesiest most lovey-dovey ending ever and it made me sad that they didn’t get that. This book enchanted me and made me feel all the feels.

Here are some quotes I liked;

““I don’t like you, Park,” she said, sounding for a second like she actually meant it. “I…” – her voice nearly disappeared – “think I live for you.”
He closed his eyes and pressed his head back into his pillow.
“I don’t think I even breathe when we’re not together,” she whispered. “Which means, when I see you on Monday morning, it’s been like sixty hours since I’ve taken a breath. That’s probably why I’m so crabby, and why I snap at you. All I do when we’re apart is think about you, and all I do when we’re together is panic. Because every second feels so important. And because I’m so out of control, I can’t help myself. I’m not even mine anymore, I’m yours, and what if you decide that you don’t want me? How could you want me like I want you?”
He was quiet. He wanted everything she’d just said to be the last thing he heard. He wanted to fall asleep with ‘I want you’ in his ears.”

“Eleanor was right. She never looked nice. She looked like art, and art wasn’t supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something.”

Ok so I know this review was random but I told you I was feeling the feels.

So you have to read the book to truly, honesty, deeply understand.

XOXO,

Madison

Here’s a song I felt fit the book;

Half a Heart– One Direction

“And being here without you is like I’m waking up to
Only half a blue sky
Kinda there but not quite
I’m walking around with just one shoe
I’m half a heart without you
I’m half a man at best,
With half an arrow in my chest
I miss everything we do,
I’m half a heart without you”
